Charles A. Damato is a partner of the firm of Windels AMrx LAne and Mitendorf,where he is a member of the Corporate & Securities, Real Estate, and Real Estate Tax Certiorari Practice Groups. Mr. Damato concentrates his corporate practice in the areas of international law, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial real estate. Mr. Damato also acts as general counsel to numerous small and mid-sized companies, advising on a wide variety of matters, including joint ventures, licensing and distribution, employment and other matters in the ordinary course of business.

In his securities practice, Mr. Damato focuses on broker dealers, hedge funds, investment advisors, and securities arbitration. In the correlated commodities and futures arena, he represents lenders, traders, trading advisors and pool operators. Mr. Damato is an arbitrator for ICE Futures US, the world's leading commodities futures exchange.

The Real Estate Tax Certiorari Practice Group which Mr. Damato directs, counsels clients on reducing real estate taxes on commercial properties, including hotels, commercial buildings, condominiums, cooperatives and other properties and on the availability of various tax exemption programs offered by the City of New York, including ICIP and Section 421-a benefits.

Mr. Damato is a vice president of the Alliance of Business Lawyers, an international alliance of business lawyers. He is an International Law Fellow of the International Center for International Legal Studies, for which he is a frequent lecturer in the United States and abroad. Mr. Damato also serves on several committees including the Securities Regulation Committee and the Derivatives and Structured Products Law Committee of the New York State Bar Associationís Business Law Section.
