Dave Hartman is President of Hartman Business Technology (HBT). HBT was founded in February 2003 to provide strategic and executive level business and technology services to mid-sized and growing businesses. HBT features a unique service called the “IT Value Matrix,” a comprehensive assessment designed to analyze and improve an organization’s ability to deliver greater profitability and efficiency through technology and improved business processes. Hartman Business Technology also specializes in custom software development, vendor selection, software integration services and reports customization.

Dave offers over 17 years of leadership and management experience, including 12 years within the Information Technology sector, primarily supporting the Healthcare and Commercial industries. He is well recognized for his ability to analyze internal company resources as well as consulting relationships to develop systems and solutions that maximize profitability or minimize corporate expense. Dave is specifically skilled in translating business need to technology solutions, motivating personnel to achieve maximum effectiveness and delivering solutions within budgeted specifications.

Prior to leading his own consulting practice, Dave served as the Senior Director of Information Technology for several highly respected healthcare and commercial companies in the Maryland area including the FutureHealth Corporation, Visiting Nurse Association of Maryland, Network Health Services and Jordan Kitts Music. Dave is a former Naval Flight Officer for the US Navy and got his start in enterprise application integration as a consultant for Andersen Consulting.

Dave’s articles and features have recently appeared in both the Baltimore Business Journal and the Business Monthly. Dave also speaks regularly on the topic of IT Business Value to business and leadership groups throughout the East Coast. Dave also recently accepted a position as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland University Campus School of Management.

Dave is married and has two children. His son Ryan is ten, and his daughter Lauren is eight. Dave was born and raised in Maryland, attending Loyola High School, the College of the Holy Cross and Embry Riddle University (MBA). He and his wife Marie live in Howard County.
